Why you should attend GDG Edinburgh’s DevFest 2018

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to get myself registered in GDG DevFest 2018, Edinburgh. (Google Developers Festival) I’ve joined DevFest London previous year and I’m really excited to participate to my third DevFest. Here’s what I found was fascinating reasons why you should be excited and why should attend: Awesome people around you : You get to meet a lot of inspirational people, you will find yourself around a lot of people having similar interests. Get to know about new technologies : New technologies is what fascinates every developer, I especially enjoyed that part of the event you will get to know about new languages, frameworks, have an hands on experience with some languages or technology. Discover yourself : You will be able to see where you stand among your peers. This will help you to get a direction wherever you will proceed in your career. Awesome goodies : I got an awesome T-shirt and some cool goodies so even if you are a complete beginner at least you get these stuffs. Awesome food : If you are lucky enough, some of these events have lunch and often conducted in a reputed place. So you will find a way to […]

10 Budget Travel Hacks To Travel Around Scotland

Scotland has long been heralded as one of Europe’s most beautiful tourist destinations. It can also prove to be much less expensive than you think – and no less rewarding. The transport infrastructure in Scotland is generally good, with many services operating across borders to make travel from the rest of the U.K., as well as the rest of the world, easy. Scotland’s rails cover most of the country, especially in the Central Belt region. Main cities like Edinburgh are well connected; Scotland’s capital is only about four or five hours from London. Yet, as much as Scotland is a place we all can find somewhere we want to travel and to visit, the costs in Scotland are remarkably higher than other typical budget traveller destinations, especially Central Scotland. Now, we all know there are must see’s all around Scotland, but it’s the cost it warrants to travel, live, eat, sleep and everything else that can become more difficult. We want to travel as long as possible, so with that in mind, we thought we’d come up with some Scotland hacks for you to keep your budget tight, but make the most out of your trip. Here are a few practical ways […]

What Is The Capital Of Scotland?

Edinburgh became the nation’s lead city in 1437 but it wasn’t the first capital of Scotland. The Scottish Parliament resides in Edinburgh.   Where is Scotland? Scotland is one of the countries forming the United Kingdom. Scotland initially existed as a sovereign state before coming to an agreement to join other nations in forming the United Kingdom. The country played a major role in the First World War facilitating the British militia with the necessary resources required during the war. Education has become a major distinguishing characteristic for the Scottish nation as they embrace a practice different from the rest of the United Kingdom. The country capital has been based in the city of Edinburgh since the early 15th century. The country’s legislative house is located right in the city. Edinburgh is the second most populated in the country. The capital is always a centre of attention as it hosts several activities which are of national interests. The majority of institutions are based here in the capital with the most significant ones being the country’s national museum, country’s national library and the country’s national art gallery. The old town of Edinburgh is documented by the UNESCO as a world heritage […]

Best Places to Celebrate Summer Solstice in Edinburgh

It’s tragically true, but in a few days’ time the nights start to draw in as we begin the inevitable decline to midwinter. It’s not all doom and gloom though, as the best of the Summer is still to come, but right now we are blessed with the very late sunsets and early sunrises given to us by our northern latitude. On a good, clear night even at one o’clock in the morning there is still a sliver of light across the northern horizon, and if you get depressed by the seemingly perpetual darkness of an Edinburgh winter, now is the time to compensate with over 17 hours of daylight per day. The 2018 solstice is at precisely 11:07 on 21 June, and the Summer solstice sunrise is that morning at 04.28 which this year is a Thursday, so not the best day of the week to stay up all night. But the night before, sunset is at 22.56 and twilight lasts another hour until just after 23.00. Although not 100% dark if there is no cloud, it’s pretty much properly daylight again by 3.30 am, a full hour before sunrise. If you want to stay up and watch the […]
